A poem-What we try to control.

Don’t compare me
to the year’s past,
it’s over and a memory.
Don’t compare me to
an hour ago
things have changed since then.
Transformation can be scary,
although
that is what I do.
I am a part of your life,
from the moment of your conception,
trying to point you in the right direction.
I know I am seen as thief,
and stealer of youth.
Don’t curse the wrinkles
I put on your face;
they were never meant to be seen
as dreadful.
I don’t mean to make
life difficult
or burdensome;
make you feel the need to
chase me
or runaway.
I am gift in disguise;
nothing is slipping away.
I want to give you wisdom
to understand
what living is all about.
Don’t fear, I am always here;
I am not trying to make you disappear.
Let me guide you
and on the other side,
I will be there too
ready and willing to help you.
I was the one
who change the street light;
RED
and created a
traffic jam….
that night you slept
comfortably in bed.
I am there when bad things occur,
when you feel like things make no sense.
In this life it’s hard to understand....
but in the next,
I will show you why it all made sense.
Be gentle
I am fragile too
but believe in me
I am not here to harm you.
I am what
you call
TIME.
Don’t cling to me,
don’t waste me.
Just allow me,
happily,
to be a companion
by your side.
I'll teach you patience
and show you grace
allow you to heal
and show you why;
the moment you are in,
is where you're meant to be.
No matter how painful or pleasurable
it may feel in this space.
I am ever moving with you
to a better place.

Great poem Cara. It is better to let things go then try to control them. I learned the hard way. Thanks for sharing, :)
This poem is awesome! Thank you! Jamie
